Raaja was an live field recording radio that people could listen to on Flow-festival’s website during the festival weekend in August 2016. Raaja was realized in collaboration with artist Jani Purhonen.
Raaja characterised sound as site specific and spatial phenomena. It investigated festival soundscape as multiplicity of interacting forms, reaching over different borderlines in urban space. The work resulted an 60 hour long field recording from the outskirts of the festival area. The recording was listenable as a live webcast.
